Ronn has a way with words....
so I'll let him tell ya a little about himself
This is what he had to say:
I live in sunny San Diego - ride almost every
day.
Love cruising the coast, mountains, desert -
down to San Filipe in Mexico.
I've been riding for a little more than 30 years.
Hit by a bus in '71 (my bass player's Honda -
boy was he pissed!)
and dumped another one once in the rain ('79).
otherwise been real lucky.
Many bikes: Triumph Bonneville, several Kawasaki
Triples (H2 -
smoked like a 10-cent cigar, had lousy brakes
but was a Sportster killer off the line),
couple of Kawasaki GPz750s, Suzuki GS,
several Hondas, etc.
And of course a Virago before this latest baby
- the V-Star Classic.
I've added a Memphis Shades "Hellcat" windshield
(may opt for the tall Yamaha shield soon)
and Saddlemen Desperado bags, Vance & Hines
Cruizer Exhaust,
a Harley brake pedal, Custom Chrome fender tip.
Baron's Big Air Kit and floorboards, Nady alarm,
Back-Off light modulator,
fromYamaha: Passing Lamps, Engine Guards, Saddlebag
Guards,
Chrome Fender Stays, Chrome Side Covers, and
Chrome Solo Seat Rail.
Replaced "chrome mustache" rear license/ tail-light
setup with lay-back bracket and bullet lights.
Replaced Dunlop D404 tires with Dunlop Cruisemax
front and rear.
Studded the saddle myself, including "Star" Conchos.
Also have a nice chrome clock (from Target, $6)
mounted to the top of the triple clamp.
Above photo is of a rare 1941 V-Star Classic,
sitting on a runway in an unknown location in the South Pacific,
during WWII, or maybe not......
Sounds like 30 years of fun,
Ronn....
I hope the V-Star gives you
30 more....
