She is a 99 V-Star Classic. These pictures were taken on the night of
November 6th, 1999. So far she has 732 miles on the clock.
I have lowered
the back end about 3-4 inches (thanks Julio) and thanks to Mark Jelic's
great article, I have installed the "Gonzo Air Kit". This coupled with
the
Cobra Drag pipes really lets the engine breathe. I have installed a
Kury-Akyn Hypercharger where the original air cleaner was to blow fresh
cool air at the new K&N filters.
I have also removed all the Yamaha
stickers and pin striping from the bike (except the tank). The last
modification I made was the seat. I removed the original upholstery
and
used 1" thick "high density" foam, then sewed my own new seat cover
for it
(it took me three tries to get it right). This combined with lowering
the
bike gets me to a 22" seat height.
Love your site! Its a great resource!
